People are constantly asking me about events going on in St. Louis where they can meet like-minded people, so that’s why SEX+STL stepped up to the plate and created a calendar that features any sex-positive events we hear about. What’s more, we’re creating some of our own. Here is what we have planned so far this year:
SUNDAY, JANUARY 9th, 2011, 3pm. Coffee Talk at MoKaBe’s. A table will be reserved for us upstairs. Topic: Privacy and Discretion. This talk will discuss privacy and discretion among the sex-positive community, online and in person. What if someone asks you about someone who attended an event? How do you keep track of everyone’s aliases? Should you fear being outed accidentally? What precautions can be taken so that networking can occur safely?
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 12, 2011, 5:30-7:30pm. SEX+STL Happy Hour at HandleBar. Our first happy hour was such a success, we’ve decided to host them bi-monthly. Door prizes, awesome people, informal.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 14th, 2011. Law & Disorder Party. Fundraiser for Kendra Holliday legal defense fund. $20 per person, $30 per couple. Doors open at 8pm. Sensual demo at 9pm. Open play starts at 10pm. Costumes encouraged.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2011. Wild Love Party. Fundraiser for Kendra Holliday legal defense fund. $20 per person. Doors open at 8pm. Open play starts at 10pm. I’m breaking my “No Leopard Print Rule” for this party and busting out a catsuit.
In honor of Valentine’s Day we’re going with a birds n bees theme. No, it’s bigger than that, we’re going for a WILD LOVE theme. An animal theme. Human beings are animals! So come as a human or other animal – exercise your inner beast!
Costumes welcome – let’s turn this place into a ZOO! I’ll be wearing my leash – and so will my special guest from out of town… Soda, ice, and snacks will be provided, bring your own flask. No glass bottles.
Due to the highly intimate nature of this event, guests must be screened and registered. Email beast (at) thebeautifulkind (dot) com with your name, phone number and a little bit about yourself for reference. If you pass screening he will email you back details, confirmation and location. All information you share will remain confidential.
NOTE: You don’t have to be kinky, open for business or belong to any subgroup in order to attend these events. They range from small sit down talks to mixers to play parties. You just need to be open-minded and sex-positive. So come on out, all you shy, asexual, vanilla, monogamous, business casual, curious people. We need you!
Still not sure? Don’t let the serial killer pic scare you off. Read this article SEX+STL co-founder Johnny Murdoc wrote about his experience at our first party.
We have big plans this year to expand and add more events, so stay tuned and feel free to suggest event ideas.
Hope to see you soon!
