Kinky Flower Arrangements!

Have you visited it? It’s a sweet little local designer boutique, located right under the Tivoli movie theater sign on Delmar in University City, St. Louis MO.

Not only do they offer traditional flower bouquets, but they also sell custom soy candles, bone jewelry, sexy flower arrangements, and now, they are offering KINKY flower arrangements that are festooned with rope, cuffs, riding crops, and more!

I asked owner Erin Gerrity how she came up with the brilliant idea (do you know any other florist in the country that offers such a thing?!), and she shared the following with me:

A couple of months ago I received a phone call from a man who told me that a very strict woman demanded that he order flowers from . He kept asking me if I knew what type of woman he was referring to.

He wanted to incorporate a special “piece of jewelry” into the arrangement. Before we could finish discussing the order, the call was dropped due to a bad connection.

Once we were off the phone, it dawned on me that he was talking about a dominatrix and that he wanted to present a special gift to her! Based on his description, maybe it was a collar with a leash?

I wished he would call back but he never did. Without any context, I was confused as to what the customer wanted and I think my confusion was probably frustrating and possibly embarrassing for him.

Over the next few days I kept thinking about it, even left a note for my staff in case he called back. I wanted him to have a safe comfortable place to ask for something unusual without fear of being judged.

It also excited me, the idea of being able to provide an outlet for this type of creative expression for people. I’ve always wanted my shop to feel like a safe all-inclusive zone for all types of people to feel comfortable placing orders, whether it’s the LGBTQ or poly communities. This particular experience led me to take that one step further and reach out to the kink community of St. Louis.

People who live alternative lifestyles or like to have some occasional kinky fun shouldn’t have to worry about being judged. Everyone has a unique romantic life and deserves to have more than cookie cutter wire service arrangements to choose from.

We are happy to do those too, but want to make sure we’re providing a service for unique custom orders as well, whether it’s our handmade leather scented candles, a vase bound in rope or a pair of cuffs presented in a flower arrangement. Subtle or bold, when you want to surprise your lover with an extra special gift, you can place your trust in Fleur de Lou. Every order will be handled professionally and confidentially.

We can order the gift item for you and incorporate it into the arrangement or you can bring it into the shop yourself when you place your order. Don’t like flowers? How about sending some chocolates or a custom scented soy candle with your item?

We also have beautiful lucky bamboo arrangements, succulent terrariums and other plants. Prices vary according to the type of arrangement and the gift item and whether you bring in your own item vs. have us order it for you. Please allow at least a few days turnaround time if something has to be ordered through the mail.

Pictured are just a few examples, but we can make anything as long as it’s available. . . Perhaps you want a shibari corset style vase with a lucky bamboo arrangement or mixed bouquet of flowers, or something more specific such as all purple flowers with purple rope.

You may want to add a set of red and black wrist cuffs inside a dozen red roses in a shibari corset vase, the possibilities are endless and we will work with you to find something suitable in your price range!

Please note that we can only deliver within a 10 mile radius of the shop and cannot wire the order to another store since this is a custom item. If the recipient lives farther away you can pick it up from the shop to deliver yourself or we can price a courier delivery for you. We reserve the right to refuse any order or gift item provided by the customer if it appears to endanger someone in any way, i.e. stalking, unclean gift items, etc.

Show Some Restraint: Beautiful purple dendrobium orchids and blue delphinium in square glass vase featuring a set of wrist cuff restraints. Flowers are $44.95 and cuffs range from $20-100, depending on quality and style desired.
