Namaste Nikki is a sex coach, phone sex provider, and, as of this March’s “The Play Party,” a sex-positive party impresario. We here at SEX+STL are always looking for a good party that we don’t have to throw ourselves, so I was very eager to talk to Nikki and learn more about her work and her provocatively named company, “Phallus-Ophy.”
SEX+STL: What is “Phallus-Ophy?”
Nikki: By definition, a phallus is a penis (especially when erect). Philosophy by definition, is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline. Since the majority of my clients are men, I decided to name the business phallus (penis) – ophy ( fundamental nature of knowledge). I would consider the name to be phonetic as it is pronounced as one word “Phallusophy”.
What would you say is the most common reason people come to you for sex coaching?
First, I’d like to explain the difference between a sex coach and sex therapist. Therapists are clinical professionals who have extensive course training and academic degrees. The process of therapy focuses a lot on your past experiences in order to help you heal old wounds and develop new skills for emotional self-regulation and self-care. Sex coaches are typically self-taught and may have certification from an online source. Coaches will generally put emphasis on getting you from where you are now to where you desire to be.
I am currently pursuing my MBA in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis on Sexuality Therapy, however, I am a sacred sex coach. I personally feel that taking the word therapy out of it, helps clients feel more in power in regard to their situation. Instead of denying or running away from their sexual wants and needs, I help my clients feed into them and find a common ground on where they desire to be. I help my clients include different healing techniques and mantras that will help them manifest the sex life of their dreams.

Namaste Nikki strikes a pose for normalizing sexuality.
The most common reason clients seek out sex coaching is typically a kink or taboo sexual desire they don’t feel comfortable having. Some clients are cuckolds and don’t know how to approach their wives with the idea, others aren’t sure how to last past two minutes in bed with their partners. It really is a wide range of concerns, as well as emotions when it comes to why clients seek out sex coaching.
Has your work as a phone sex operator affected your work as a sex coach? Has your work as a sex coach affected your work as a phone sex operator?
My work as a phone sex operator is actually what took me on the path to becoming a sex coach. I had no idea how many men would use the line to seek out coaching, and techniques to have a better sex life. Regardless if they are alone, or with a partner they seek out tips and tricks I can give them to spice up the bedroom. I saw a definite need for sex coaching and took off with the idea from there. Neither of my businesses have conflicted with one another, I have clients that are unique to one or the other and some that like both.
What inspired you to start throwing play parties and what do you hope will come of them?
I was inspired while attending Naughti Gras 2018, I never saw anything like it and was extremely intrigued. However, Naughti Gras was extremely overcrowded in my opinion and didn’t give individuals the safe space to really sit, relax and enjoy the different variety shows. I wanted to create a more intimate setting in a clothing optional environment for everyone to be free in their sexuality without judging themselves or fearing judgment from others.
What can people expect at your upcoming play party?
This will be the first Play Party and we are allowing only 100 guests to attend. Our guest will arrive at Artist Art in the Cherokee District at 6 pm. Live BDSM demonstrations and variety shows will be taking place all night. We will have a nude body painter on site, as well as a photo booth where our guest can take naughty photographs with other attendees. Hoopsie Dee appropriately nicknamed “The Snack Pack of the Midwest”, who is a St.Louis based hoop dance and burlesque/variety performer will be our host for the evening. Our guest will be entertained by the sounds of the Arvell & Cheri Duo, a live band also based here in St.Louis, Mo. We will have three vendors available all night selling adult novelty items. Light refreshments, with vegan options and a top-shelf open bar, are all included in the ticket cost. We encourage our guest to come dressed in whatever they would like, or nothing at all! We look so forward to seeing everyone there! All guest will go home with a sex toy goodie bag!
The Play Party is March 23rd, 2019 at Artist Art, 2643 Cherokee Street, from 6-11 pm. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.com
