WHO WE ARE

SEX+STL Leadership

Kendra Holliday is the author of The Beautiful Kind. She is a passionate bisexual sexplorer when it comes to kinks, fetishes, BDSM, swinging, sex work, and polyamory. She is also a mother, daughter, sister, friend, and volunteer.

She is a co-founder of Sex Positive St. Louis and has served as an Alternative Lifestyle Advisor and Gynecological Teaching Associate for Washington University School of Medicine. Featured countless times in The Riverfront Times and winner of their Web Award for Best Sex Blog, she has a professional consulting site Be Open and Honest, where she offers sex and relationship advice and sex surrogacy services (talking and hands-on intimacy).

Her life experiences include monogamous marriage, divorce, sex work, parenthood, as well as being fired and sued for her sexuality. A nudist and sex-positive activist, she is in a polyamorous BDSM relationship with her long-term partner, Matthew.

Nikia Munson is a fun-loving woman who was born and raised in the South Side of Chicago. In 2007 she moved to St. Louis to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis/Washington University Joint Engineering Program. During her four-and-a-half years on campus, Nikia fell in love with the people and small-town feel of St. Louis. It wasn’t long before she found permanent residency and was able to call St. Louis, “home.”

Nikia is an Electrical Engineer for a global substation design firm. Outside of work, Nikia enjoys outdoor activities such as float trips, zip-lining, softball, rollerblading, and staying fit. Nikia is a workout enthusiast, interested in clean, healthy eating and how it affects our bodies.

At a young age, Nikia understood the importance of sexuality and living in an ethical manner. She enjoys making connections with people who are struggling with their sexuality and helping them find safe, inclusive spaces to grow. Since becoming involved with Sex Positive St. Louis in 2014, she has flourished, given the opportunity to educate herself and connect with like-minded individuals. Her mission is to connect marginalized groups, especially within the LGBT community, with SEX+STL to gain access to a space in which they can learn and express themselves without fear of judgment.

Emily Kothe is a queer feminist keen on creating communities of inclusion through her work. She joined Sex Positive St. Louis as a co-leader in Oct 2013 and is excited to take on stronger roles in organizing and leading events, with plans to focus on educational events, speaker’s series, and social events for women. She thrives on diversity work, women’s issues, and her particular field: mental health awareness. The intersections of these issues with sexuality education and awareness are many, and she can talk about these things for hours. For fun, she is a former burlesque performer with local theatre/dance troupe The Kiss & Tells, and she wrestles with the St. Louis Lady Arm Wrestlers, a philanthropic feminist group. As of this writing, Emily is a student of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. As you can imagine, it’s always an exciting mess of crafts, books, costumes, and cats at Emily’s house!

Nick Speed is a sex-positive activist, storyteller, educator, scholar, mentor, Los Angeles Lakers fan, and St. Louis native. He graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Communications. As a program manager for a youth empowerment workshop for a local non-profit, Nick facilitates professional development workshops and creates community service opportunities for young adults.

His passion for sex education, transparency, and awareness lead him and his partner Nikia to Sex Positive St. Louis. Both identify as bisexual and saw an opportunity to grow and educate themselves. Nick’s mission is to help create more outlets for sex-positive education and freedom of expression for LGBT and non-monogamous marginalized groups.

In addition to his work with SEX+STL, Nick volunteers with several other organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, New Leaders Council, and Gateway Greening. He is inspired daily by the city of St. Louis, his family, and close friends.

Nick and Nikia enjoy traveling, watching science videos on YouTube, spending quality time with like-minded individuals, reading, Netflix, and the 54th Street Grill.

David Wraith is a co-founder of Sex Positive St. Louis, a free-range, polyamorous man-whore, the self-proclaimed “Hardest Working Man in Ho Business,” and the “Do-You Guru.” He has spent much of his adult life advocating for women’s reproductive freedom, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights, and people living with HIV. Wraith is a writer, speaker and sex educator with a degree in English from Webster University and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He conducts workshops on polyamory, BDSM, sex positivity and body image, around the United States and Canada.
