This summer, my friend Anna contacted me about forming a sex positive organization along the lines of Whole DC, Sex Positive Culture Seattle, and San Francisco Sex Information. It feels like there’s a chasm between the east and west coast when it comes to sex, and we wanted to connect the dots.
We’ve been meeting for weeks brainstorming, and have added two more founders to the mix – Johnny Murdoc and David Wraith.
We had our first happy hour last week and met a lot of amazing folks, including the VP of the Wash U Alternative Lifestyle and a few other people who have great up-and-coming ideas that will bring positive change to St. Louis. The vibe was good, the timing seems right.
For now we are focusing on our online presence – adding to our calendar and links page. There’s a lot of buried treasure in St. Louis and we want to offer a central repository to help people find what they need, whether it be STI testing, BDSM toys, a swinger club, or information about asexuality.
Later, we’ll offer events such as book groups, workshops, speakers.
